CityU Press recently participated in the 2022 Hong Kong Book Fair. Our book fair theme this year was "Reading Door". To us, reading is like opening a door that allows us to explore the ever-changing world. we live in. Our theme also sheds light on how reading invites us to discover and connect with those around us.

We used this theme to create a literal door-like exhibition at our booth, inviting everyone to enter the world of reading and to search for their favorite books. The theme and our booth attracted a lot of attention from our readers and book fair visitors.

We are once again thrilled to have launched many new academic and professional publications on subjects ranging from Hong Kong Studies, Social Sciences, Cultural Studies, Asian Studies, and China Studies at the book fair this year. Detailed information about our new publications can be found at:

In addition to our new publications, the Press also released a series of new exclusive souvenirs, including a Vinyl Organizer, Stylish Shopping Bag, and Two-way Tote Bag. Some meaningful phrases were printed on the souvenirs to remind book fair visitors of the joys of reading in our daily lives.

The Press also organized two book talks during the 2022 Hong Kong Book Fair to promote our recent publications.

On 24 July 2022, we held a seminar for Hong Kong’s Journey for Reunification — The Prospects of ‘One Country, Two System. We were honored to have Prof. Anthony Bing-Leung; Mr. CHEUNG Ka Wai, Gary; and Prof. Lui Tai-Lok present at the talk to share their thoughts on the future of Hong Kong from a historical perspective. During the talk, two other CityU Press titles — Secrets from the British Archives: Hong Kong and its Post-Colonial Future and Can Hong Kong Exceptionalism Last? Dilemmas of Governance and Public Administration over Five Decades, the 1970s-2020were promoted.
