CityUHK SLW Celebrates the Success of PhD Graduates
City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) School of Law is delighted to celebrate the incredible success of three distinguished PhD graduates, presented below in alphabetical order of surnames:
Prof FENG Yuqing, a leading scholar in the field of sociology of law and civil procedure law, has been promoted to the rank of full professor at School of Law of Southeast University, Nanjing.
Prof FENG’s work adopts a distinctive approach that integrates big data analysis with in-depth field research. He specializes in advancing understanding of China's grassroots judicial system, digital governance and related fields. His publications appear in international renowned journals, including Law & Society Review, Law and Social Inquiry, PoLAR: Political and Legal Anthropology Review, Hong Kong Law Journal, and China Journal.
Prof Md Rabiul ISLAM, recipient of the 2022 Outstanding Academic Performance Award for Research Degree Students, has been appointed as the Chair of the Department of Law & Justice and concurrently serves as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law at Jahangirnagar University (JU), the second-largest public university in Bangladesh. Prof ISLAM’s PhD supervisor was Prof LONE Fozia Nazir.
As an expert in comparative constitutional law, human rights, administrative law, and law of tort, Prof ISLAM has made invaluable contributions to research on ministerial responsibility, academic freedom, comparative federalism, racial discrimination in postcolonial states and etc.
Dr Joshua Kembero OGEGA, a proud graduate from Kenya specializes in Human Rights Law and AI-related legal studies, now serves as a lecturer at Kabarak University, in addition to his role as managing partner of K.O.M. Advocates LLP, cultivating a global perspective among future legal practitioners in Africa. Dr OGEGA was a PhD student of Prof LIN Feng, Dean of School of Law CityUHK.
Dr OGEGA’s professional experience includes practice at Manyonge Wanyama and Associates Advocates and internships at Bowmans, one of the leading corporate law firms in the country, and The Commission on Revenue Allocation, an independent government Commission.

馮煜清教授是法學社會學及民事訴訟法學的頂尖學者，他被晉升爲南京東南大學法學院的教授。
馮教授的研究采取結合大數據分析和實地調研的獨特方式，深入研究中國基層司法制度、數碼治理等領域。他的研究發表在國際知名期刊，如《Law & Society Review》《 Law and Social Inquiry》《 PoLAR: Political and Legal Anthropology Review》《Hong Kong Law Journal》 及《China Journal》。
於2022年獲頒發傑出研究生獎的Md Rabiul ISLAM教授，被任命為孟加拉第二大公立大學Jahangirnagar University(JU)法律學系主任，並同時擔任法律學院的代理院長。ISLAM教授的博士生導師為LONE Fozia Nazir教授。
作爲比較法、人權法、行政法和侵權行爲法方面的專家，ISLAM教授為部長責任、學術自由、比較聯邦主義、後殖民地區種族歧視等方面的研究做出貢獻。
來自肯亞的畢業生Joshua Kembero OGEGA博士主力人權法和人工智能(AI)領域相關的法律研究，除了出任K.O.M. Advocates LLP的執行合夥人，目前亦為Kabarak University的講師，爲非洲未來的法律從業者培養國際視野。OGEGA博士的博士生導師為法律學院院長林峰教授。
