Project: Innovative eDNA passive sampling method and DNA tests for wildlife forensics

We are also recruiting a Research Assistant to contribute to method development in marine eDNA surveys and wildlife forensic DNA testing.

Key duties

• Conduct experiments to develop standard eDNA survey approaches for various marine habitats
• Produce internal standard gene projects for eDNA quality control
• Test novel materials for eDNA passive sampling
• Perform DNA tests for species identification
• Handle and analyse data; prepare manuscripts
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• A Master’s degree or above (preferred fields: Fisheries Science, Marine Biology, Marine Ecology, or related subjects)
• Strong initiative and sense of responsibility
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently under pressure
