Prof. Xuan Wang has successfully published his research paper, titled “Dark Brown Carbon from Biomass Burning Contributes to Significant Global-Scale Positive Forcing” in One Earth. This study represents a significant achievement in climate science, shedding light on the substantial warming impact of dark brown carbon, a factor not previously considered in current climate assessments.
On 24 February 2025, the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) hosted an enlightening seminar, titled "Sustainability and Carbon Neutrality 2.0", as part of the SEE Colloquium series. Prof. Fatwa F. Abdi, an Associate Professor from SEE, has been awarded a 3-year research grant from the French National Research Agency (ANR) / Research Grants Council (RGC) Joint Research Scheme, with a total funding amount of HKD 1.7 million. In the current 2024/25 exercise, Prof. Abdi is the only recipient from CityUHK to receive the ANR/RGC Joint Research Scheme Grant.
