• Overseas academic/research exchanges at top-ranked universities (upon fulfilling conditions)
• Internship/placement at prestigious institutions (applicable to professional programmes)
• Guaranteed admission to the respective PhD programme in Science/Engineering or Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (upon attainment of entrance requirements)

Unique Opportunities

Local students admitted to the Flagship Programmes with outstanding academic performance shall be automatically considered for the Flagship Scholarships.

The Flagship Scholarships include:

• Tuition fees and hall fees incurred at CityUHK and is tenable for the normal duration of the programmes concerned
  • Full Scholarship: 100% tuition and hall fees
  • Half Scholarship: 50% tuition and hall fees
• Guaranteed berth in the Halls of Residence
• A one-off special sponsorship of a maximum amount of HK$500,000 for an overseas exchange of up to one year at a top-ranked university

Criteria and Selection Mechanism

Remarks:

1. The HKDSE score is calculated by adding the scores of 3 core subjects (exclude "Citizenship and Social Development") and 2 electives with the best results (see Scoring Scale below). If the student has attempted the subject more than once, the best result of the subject will be used for the score calculation.
2. Results in GCE A-level / International A-level are accepted. Two AS subjects are considered to be equivalent to one AL subject. The same subject cannot be counted at both A Level and AS Level. GCE Chinese Language subjects are not counted.
3. Maximum duration: 4 to 6 years depending on the normal duration of the registered undergraduate programme.
4. No application is required for the Flagship Scholarships. Eligible students will be notified of the Flagship Scholarship awards by email on the JUPAS Main Round Offers announcement date (for local JUPAS students) / before Semester A 2026/27 (for local non-JUPAS students).
5. The Flagship Scholarships shall be automatically renewed each year on the condition that the student continues his/her study in the Flagship Programme by the end of Semester B each year.
6. Entrants are not allowed to hold the Institutional Scholarships, Dean’s Scholarships or Flagship Scholarships concurrently. If an entrant is selected for more than one scholarship, only the scholarship with the highest amount will be awarded.
7. CityUHK Scholarships for Hong Kong Talents, including Flagship Scholarships, Institutional Scholarships, and Dean’s Scholarships, are primarily offered to newly admitted students at CityUHK. Under special circumstances, the University may exercise its discretion to consider readmission candidates for these scholarships.
