Application Procedures and Details
  1. CityU BSCM students are required to fill in an application form, a copy of HKID card and submit them together with your Online Grade Display to the Department of Mathematics (MA), CityU. MA will seek approval from the BSCM Deputy Major Leader and forward the endorsed applications to the Department of Mathematics, CUHK. Students will be informed of the application result by the offering university via MA CityU. Acceptance of the student is at the discretion of CUHK, taking into account its quota availability and other relevant factors.

  2. To be eligible, students must attain a cumulative overall GPA of at least 3.0 at the time of application.

  3. Students can ONLY take courses that are available on the list of CUHK Mathematics Courses to be offered to CityU MA students.

  4. Students admitted to a course will be officially registered as associate students at CUHK and are required to participate fully in the course, which includes completion of coursework and examinations, if applicable.

  5. All the credits gained can be counted towards the fulfillment of the Major Elective requirements for the BSCM programme and shall not be included in the calculation of GPA subject to approval of credit transfer for the courses taken is being granted.

  6. Students who wish to drop/withdraw from the course should submit their request with justifications in writing to the CM Major Leader before the deadline. MA will forward the request to CUHK for processing.

  7. Application fee and tuition fee have been waived as agreed by both CityU and CUHK.


Course Registration, Examination and Grade Results
  1. Students will be informed of course registration and examination details by CUHK.

  2. Grade will be given to students at the end of a course, and result will be sent to CityU by CUHK. To comply with the requirement of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, the consent of MA students for the release of the results to MA, CityU will be sought during the course application stage.

Credit Transfer

Students are required to fill in an application form for credit transfer and submit it to the Department of Mathematics, CityU within 3 working days upon receiving the transcript of the relevant CUHK course(s). Applications for credit transfer will be considered on condition that the students have attained at least grade C or above in the selected CUHK course(s).

Application Procedures and Details
  1. CUHK Mathematics Students are required to fill in an application form and submit it, together with a photocopy of your academic transcript(s) for previous academic qualification obtained, to the Department of Mathematics, CUHK for endorsement. Applications without CUHK's endorsement would not be processed. Acceptance of the student is at the discretion of CityU, taking into account its quota availability and other relevant factors.

  2. Students can ONLY take courses that are available on the above list.

  3. Students who wish to drop/withdraw from the course should submit their request with justifications in writing to the Department of Mathematics, CUHK by the deadline. The request will be forwarded to CityU for processing.

  4. Application fee and tuition fee have been waived as agreed by both CityU and CUHK.


Course Registration
  1. CUHK Mathematics Students will officially be registered as Visiting Students (VSTB) at CityU for the course and are required to participate fully in the course, which includes completion of coursework and an examination, if applicable. Students should observe the rules and regulations prescribed by CityU during course registration.

  2. Grade will be given to students at the end of a course, and result will be sent to CUHK by CityU. To comply with the requirement of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, the consent of CUHK Mathematics students for the release of the results to CUHK, will be sought during the course application stage.

  1. There are normally 13 teaching weeks in a semester. The teaching weeks and examination periods of academic year 2023/24 are as follows:

  2. Students will be informed of the examination timetable and related details normally one month before the start of examination period by email.

  3. Study under this Scheme will not lead to a degree or other awards from CityU. Upon completion of study, an academic report will be sent to the students via their home institution. Students may also apply for a transcript according to CityU's procedures.
