Workshop Summary

A 3-day workshop series with the aim to provide a foundation of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills for veterinary staff (veterinary nurses, assistants and technicians) assisting with anaesthesia of small companion animals in Hong Kong.

The workshop is delivered through interactive mini-lectures, small group practical activities and discussions. Participants will have hands-on opportunities in setting up and operating anaesthesia systems and monitoring equipment with instructor feedback. Stimulators and mannequins will also be used to help students develop a deeper understanding and practise skills in anaesthetic patient management.

Target Delegates

Veterinary nurses, nursing assistants, and veterinary technicians.

This is course is highly recommended for working nurses / assistants / technicians who are relatively new to anaesthesia and dealing with patients that require anaesthesia. This course will equip you with the required knowledge and skills for safe anaesthesia practice, and will prepare you for challenges in anaesthesia and anaesthetic patient care.

This workshop provides a great opportunity for delegates to interact and discuss their questions and cases with a UK qualified veterinary nurse who is also a specialist veterinary technician in anaesthesia and analgesia (a member of the Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Anaesthesia and Analgesia), Susanna TAYLOR.
