Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU)

The Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) established the Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU) in 2014 to assist local universities in supporting their start-up teams in launching technology businesses and commercializing their R&D results. In addition to the original TSSSU funding, the ITC has introduced TSSSU+, which provides dollar-for-dollar matching funds to start-ups demonstrating strong growth potential by securing private sector investment.

Starting from 2023 - 2024, two TSSSU funds will be available: TSSSU-O (the original scheme) and TSSSU+.

CityUHK is now accepting applications for TSSSU-O and TSSSU+ for the 2026 - 2027. Eligible start-ups are invited to apply for either funding option. For details of the TSSSU funds, please refer to the following documents:

The application deadline is noon on 28 October 2025. For more information, please email HKTech300.tsssu@cityu.edu.hk.
