Congratulations to Professor Julien Chaisse on Public Policy Research Funding Scheme (PPRFS) Grant
The School of Law at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is pleased to share that Professor Julien CHAISSE has received a competitive grant under the Public Policy Research Funding Scheme (PPRFS) 2025/26 of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. His project, “Making E-awards Work: Hong Kong at the Forefront of Digital Arbitration”, focuses on the future of digital arbitration in and through Hong Kong. The project, supported with HK$909,650, forms part of the Government’s efforts to strengthen public policy research that informs policymaking in Hong Kong.
Professor Chaisse will lead a team that includes two full-time senior researchers. The project also rests on close collaboration with academic partners at University College London (UCL) Computer Science (UK) and William & Mary Law School (USA). In Hong Kong, the research team will work in concert with nearly all arbitral institutions, leading law firms and the relevant government bureaux and departments. With input from these partners, the PPRFS project will develop concrete proposals for legislative amendments, institutional practices, and the use of secure technology, ensuring that Hong Kong remains a preferred seat for international dispute resolution.

香港城市大學（城大）法律學院欣然宣佈，夏竹立教授的研究項目成功獲得中華人民共和國香港特別行政區政府2025/26年度「公共政策研究資助計劃」支持。夏教授的研究項目題爲“Making E-awards Work: Hong Kong at the Forefront of Digital Arbitration”，聚焦於數字仲裁(digital arbitration)在香港的未來發展。該項目獲得909,650港元的資助，是香港特區政府對能有助本港政策發展的公共研究給予支持的體現。
夏教授將率領兩位全職資深研究員投入項目。該研究將借助於英國倫敦大學學院電腦科學及美國的威廉與瑪麗學院團隊的緊密合作。而在本港方面，研究團隊將與大部分仲裁機構、頂尖律師事務所及有關政府部門通力合作。透過匯聚各方意見，本研究項目將就法規修訂、機構實踐及安全技術應用等領域提出具體方案，以鞏固香港作為國際爭議解決首選地的地位。
我們衷心祝賀夏教授獲獎。此項殊榮對城大法律學院長久以來在仲裁及爭議解決方面的優勢，引入公共政策層面，具有重大的意義。
