Faculty members from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong have been named on the 2026 “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list, released jointly by Stanford University’s Professor John P. A. Ioannidis team and Elsevier on 7 October 2026. Drawn from Scopus data across 20 disciplines and 174 subfields, the ranking uses citation-based metrics including the H-index and adjusted HM-index to identify the top 2% of scientists worldwide. The ranking comprises two categories: the Career-long Impact list, which reflects a scholar’s cumulative influence over their entire academic career, and the Single-year Impact list, which focuses on academic performance in 2025.
