Microsoft Azure OpenAI is a managed Azure service that provides access to OpenAI’s large language and generative models (for example, GPT-family text models, code models, and image models) via Azure’s cloud platform and tooling. It enables secure, scalable AI experimentation, data analysis, and model development, helping interdisciplinary research teams accelerate discovery, collaborate effectively, and apply advanced AI to real‑world academic challenges. For example, researchers or developers can use Microsoft Azure OpenAI to develop AI-capable applications for their projects.
