Google Gemini (Gemini) is an AI-powered productivity and research assistant that helps staff draft content, analyse information, and generate insights for teaching, administrative, and professional work. With advanced language understanding and multimodal capabilities, Gemini supports efficient day-to-day work while promoting accuracy and consistency.

There are two versions of Google Gemini: Gemini Basic and Gemini Enterprise. The features listed above are available for Gemini Basic. To request a Gemini Basic account, please contact the IT Service Desk at IT.ServiceDesk@cityu.edu.hk. Once you get the account, you can access Gemini Basic through this link.

If you would like to use advanced capabilities such as NotebookLM and Agents, a Gemini Enterprise subscription is required, please get a quotation from and place an order (minimum quantity 15) with Eastech Systems Limited, an authorized dealer for Google Gemini contracted for the Joint Universities Computer Centre (JUCC). You have to specify the CityUHK Google domain "gapps.cityu.edu.hk" in the order.

The process flow for procuring Gemini Enterprise license:

1. The department representative gets the quotation from Eastech.
2. The department representative sends the quotation to FO for a purchase order (PO).
3. After getting the confirmation from Eastech, the department representative submits a CSC Work Request, attaches the PO, and provides the EIDs/email of users who need to use the license.
4. CSC will then assign the license to the target users.
