Cloud-Edge Fusion Smart Livestock Health Management based on Next-Generation Artificial Intelligence

 

Led by the CityUHK’s Smart Animal Management Laboratory, AI4Livestock employs next-generation AI with cloud-edge fusion technology for smart health management of pigs and cattle. It aims to develop a reliable, efficient, and comprehensive system that supports sustainability and improved production efficiency in the livestock industry. Hardware devices, including wearable sensors, cameras, and data communication equipment, will be deployed at cattle farms of the CityUHK and the swine unit of the University of Pennsylvania. Advanced AI algorithms on cloud and edge platforms will enable achieve individual animal recognition, pose detection, tracking, feeding monitoring, disease diagnosis, and welfare evaluation, driving intelligent livestock farming forward.
