Mr JY Chan is a Partner at Wings Capital Ventures (WCV), a venture capital fund focusing on early-stage investments in FinTech and AI applications in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. He has joined since WCV’s inception in late 2022 and is responsible for the fund’s investments and portfolio management.

Passionate about fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Hong Kong, Mr Chan actively engages with the local startup ecosystem. He has served as a panelist at major local events and innovation programs including Jumpstarter, EPiC, Cyberport, Hong Kong FinTech Week, and CityUHK HK Tech 300.

Mr Chan has over 16 years of investment experience across the capital structure including private equity, private credit and hybrid investments focusing on China and Asia Pacific. He has served in major international and Chinese financial institutions including CPP Investments, China Merchants Capital, Intermediate Capital Group, and Bank of China International, of which majority are buyside institutions. 

He started his career at the Research Department of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority which laid the foundation of his lifelong interest in China’s economy.

Mr Chan received his Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and Bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. He has also completed a series of certified continuing education programs focusing on FinTech and decentralized finance (DeFi).
