City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Productivity Council Forge Strategic Partnership to Drive AI Innovation

The College of Computing of City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) are proud to announce the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to accelerate Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovation in Hong Kong.
The signing ceremony, held on 7 July 2025, was witnessed by Prof. Wang Jianping, Dean of the College of Computing of CityUHK, and Dr. Lawrence Cheung, Chief Technology Officer of HKPC. This landmark partnership marks a significant step forward in Hong Kong’s journey to becoming an international innovation and technology hub.


Aligned with the Hong Kong SAR Government’s strategic vision, the collaboration will leverage CityUHK’s cutting-edge AI research and HKPC’s extensive expertise in technology transfer and industrial applications.
Key focus areas of the collaboration include:
• Provide support to our Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MSAI) Program;
• Offer internship opportunities to the outstanding students of MSAI Program; and
• Collaborate in conducting R&D projects.
Looking ahead, CityUHK and HKPC will deepen their cooperation to deliver impactful AI solutions in smart manufacturing, life and health technology, and new energy sectors. The shared goal is to empower enterprises to enhance productivity and quality through innovative AI technologies.
