Three SEE Scholars Named Among the World’s Most Highly Cited Researchers 2025 by Clarivate

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) is proud to announce that Prof. Alex JEN, Prof. Zhiguo YUAN AM, and Prof. Angus YIP have been named among the Highly Cited Researchers 2025, as published by Clarivate. The Clarivate list recognises scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated substantial influence in their fields by publishing multiple highly cited papers ranked in the top 1% by citations, reflecting exceptional academic impact and research excellence.

This year, 6,868 researchers from 60 countries and regions were selected, with Hong Kong ranking eighth globally. Among them, 29 scholars from City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) were honoured, placing the University ninth in Asia and second in Hong Kong. Notably, CityUHK has maintained the highest proportion of Highly Cited Researchers relative to faculty size in Hong Kong for ten consecutive years, underscoring its sustained leadership in impactful research.

The inclusion of SEE’s distinguished faculty members in this global list highlights the School’s commitment to advancing knowledge in energy, environment, and sustainability through high-impact, interdisciplinary research.
