As the Lunar New Year draws near, City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) Press is delighted to extend warm greetings to readers everywhere. In celebration of the season, CityUHK Press has proudly teamed up with the CityUHK Academy of Innovation for the first time to present a limited-edition Lunar New Year gift set. Including a festive poster, traditional fai chun, and red packets (lai see), the collection offers blessings through the art of classical calligraphy.

The calligraphy featured in the gift set was generously contributed by Professor Michael Tse Chi-kong, Associate Vice-President (Innovation) of CityUHK. His masterful brushwork brings a refined touch and artistic vibrancy to the set. Every character is imbued with auspicious meaning, exemplifying the elegance and depth of traditional Chinese calligraphy.

A Blend of Tradition and Aesthetics – A New Year Keepsake with Distinction

Professor Tse’s expressive strokes in every line reflect both the discipline and beauty of classical Chinese art. Following his contribution, the design team at CityUHK Press prepared a contemporary layout to balance the gift set with a modern sensibility thoughtfully crafted for the occasion.

CityUHK Press warmly invites readers to visit CityUHK Bookshop from 12 to 16 February 2026 to take part in the gift set campaign and ring in the Year of the Horse together. We wish all readers a prosperous new year, every success, and a year ahead marked by triumphs.
