The second concert of CityUHK Arts Festival 2024 - Orchestral Concert: Music from the Silver Screen with a theme of movie soundtracks concluded successfully on 16 October 2024.
Performed by CityUHK Philharmonic Orchestra, the highlight of this evening was the James Bond Suite, which impressed the audience with its familiar melodies and stunning live orchestral performances. Adding to the excitement, audience were thrilled by a dramatic ending. One of the players acted as a spy, suddenly “shot” the conductor and making him fall on the ground, which surprised and amused the audience. It was a facinating performance!
We have also invited a guest orchestra, Ponte Orchestra, to perform theme songs and soundtracks of Hong Kong movies, including Good To Be Alive, Years Like Water, Star Wish, etc. Their performance captivated the audience and created an intoxicating atmosphere.
This night, filled with Hong Kong and Hollywood movie vibes, attracted a full house. We hope every audience can relive the touching moments from the silver screen!
