The first concert of CityU Arts Festival 2020/21, ‘Bel Canto in the City’ Vocal Concert, attracted many vocal music fans on 1 April 2021.
Audiences enjoyed a peaceful choral performance by CityU Choir. Professor Nancy YUEN (Soprano), Dr. Tim WONG (Tenor), and Mr. Petrus CHEUNG (Baritone) also performed the “Bel Canto” style, an operatic singing style originated from Italy. With the accompaniment by acclaimed pianists, the three guest vocalists showcased the beauty of sound with songs from several famous Operas, including ‘Carmen’, ‘The Pearl Fishers’, and ‘Il pirata’. What a wonderful night!
