On 14 October, CityU Arts Festival 2022/23 kicked off with the heart-healing concert,
CityU Philharmonic Orchestra: On Strings of Music.
The opening concert was brought by world-renowned harpists Ms. Dan YU and Ms. Lauyee YEUNG, together with the CityU Philharmonic Orchestra. An array of classical pieces, including Saint-Saëns's masterpiece, Morceau de concert for Harp and Orchestra in G, Op.154, were presented, drawing a full house of more than 520 audiences. This masterpiece was also the first to debut in Hong Kong! Toward the end of the show, Ms. YU returned to the stage and encored a Chinese song, Blossoms on a Moonlit River in Spring, with a harp in response to the audience's overwhelming applause and summarizing this unforgettable evening.
