Sharing session with Deputy Secretary for Justice, Mr Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan, SBS, JP
A sharing session with Deputy Secretary for Justice, Mr Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan, SBS, JP, organized by the School of Law, was successfully held in the afternoon of 3 April 2023 at Connie Fan Multi-media Conference Room, Cheng Yick Chi Building, CityU. Around 100 School of Law students and staff attended the event.
To kick-off the event, Prof Lin Feng, Acting Dean, School of Law, warmly welcomed our alumnus, Mr Horace Cheung, who was an LLB and PCLL graduate of CityU. Mr Horace Cheung was then invited to share the work of the Department of Justice and recent developments of the rule of law in Hong Kong to the audience. A Q & A session ensued, with participants enthusiastically exchanging views with Mr Cheung, who in turn gave insightful response, such as the role of Hong Kong following the establishment of the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed) Preparatory Office in Hong Kong, the opportunities for legal professionals arising from the development of the Greater Bay Area, and the relationship between the Judicial systems of Hong Kong SAR and the Mainland China.
The event was concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to Mr Cheung, and group photos with all the attending guests, staff and students.
2023年4月3日下午，由城大法律學院舉辦的與律政司副司長張國鈞，SBS，JP會面的分享會於鄭翼之樓范彭綺雯多媒體會議廳成功舉行。約有100名法律學院的學生和教職員參加了此次活動。
張先生曾於香港城市大學先後取得法學士學位，及法學專業證書，是我們的資深校友。活動先由城大法律學院署理院長林峰教授致辭歡迎張國鈞先生。張先生隨即與一眾師生分享了律政司的工作，以及香港法治的最新發展。在其後的問答環節，參加者熱烈發表提問，而張國鈞先生也作出了不少深刻的回應，例如香港在國際調解院籌備辦公室（IOMed）在本地成立後所扮演的角色、隨著大灣區發展為法律專業人材帶來的機遇，以及香港特別行政區與中國大陸兩地司法制度彼此間的關聯等。
最後，學院向張國鈞先生致送紀念品，並與嘉賓、教職員和學生拍照留影，活動圓滿結束。
