We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Part-time Research Assistant to contribute to a wide range of projects. This is a half-year, part-time position, commencing as soon as possible, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and project needs. The successful candidate will be integral to a project aimed at investigating the biodiversity and mapping habitats of coral reef ecosystems. 

 

Duties：

1. Participating in boat-based habitat mapping surveys in Hong Kong and assisting with sample data recording; 
2. Conducting laboratory biological and analytical chemistry experiments, including maintain the microalgae collection; Accelerated solvent extraction; Solid phase extraction.
3. Performing ecotoxicology experiments using model organisms, including microalgae and zooplankton.

 

Requirements: Applicants must possess a bachelor degree in a relevant discipline such as Marine Biology, Ecology, or Environmental Science. Candidates should be comfortable conducting field work. Proficiency in conducting environmental chemistry, ecotoxicological experiments and data analysis is also required. The ideal candidate will be organised, self-motivated, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
