UGC Academic Quality Audit 2024

The Quality Assurance Council (QAC) of the UGC has been organizing another round of Quality Audit (third cycle) from 2023 to 2024. The audit covers all programmes at the levels of sub-degree, first degree and above including programmes offered outside Hong Kong, however funded, leading to a qualification wholly or partly awarded by UGC-funded universities. To reflect the maturity of the UGC-funded universities, focus for the third audit cycle will be less on description and evaluation of how the universities manage academic quality and standards, and more about how they have reviewed and enhanced their approach since the last audit, i.e., 2016/17. In addition, the third cycle’s Audit Theme is “Collection, Analysis and Usage of Data”. For more details, please refer to the QAC’s Audit Manual (available in English only).

The Audit Panel evaluates the University based on how effectively it reviews and enhances the following Audit Criteria:
  • framework for managing academic standards and academic quality
  • arrangements for programme development and approval, monitoring and review
  • teaching and learning
  • student learning assessment
  • arrangement for supporting students

The University is also required to address the Audit Theme and provide possible sources of evidence to demonstrate how the University has addressed the Theme, or precisely how it is planning to address it in the future.
