SGS Financial Support on Thesis Editing Service

To allow more students to be benefited, special funding may be allocated again by the University to provide financial support to research students for professional thesis editing service. Details are as follows:

  1. All MPhil/PhD students (UGC-funded/Non UGC-funded) who are at the final stage of their thesis writing are eligible to apply for financial support. Applications from students who have received this financial support from SGS before for the same thesis will not normally be considered. 
  2. The maximum value is HK$3,000 per MPhil/PhD thesis. 
  3. Students shall be responsible for seeking suitable service providers to edit their theses. 
  4. The SGS/ Department may call for application in July every year, please pay attention to your e-mail.


lmportant Remarks 

  1. To avoid conflict of interest, both full-time/part-time CityU staff/students and any persons who are associated with (or related to) the student who wrote the thesis, should not be commissioned for providing thesis editing service under this exercise.
  2. The selected editor, who provided the editing service, must be endorsed by the student's home Department.
  3. Students shall be reminded to conform to the Code of Practice for Research (posted on http://www.cityu.edu.hk/ro/studentlan/codeofpractice.html), and observe honesty in the reporting of research.
