Dr. Wang’s CityU Scholars Profile.
Dr Shubo Wang, Assistant Professor
Dr. Shubo Wang recently joined the Department of Physics as an Assistant Professor. Dr Wang obtained his BSc degree from Shandong University in 2009 and his PhD degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2013.
Before joining CityU, he worked as a visiting scholar in Prof. Che Ting Chan’s group in the Department of Physics and Institute for Advanced Study at HKUST. His research focuses on the theoretical study of wavefunctional materials including plasmonics, metamaterials and photonic crystals, opto-mechanics and computational electrodynamics. He developed a fast-multipole-boundary-element-method software with superior speed and accuracy compared with commercial codes for simulating electromagnetic waves.
Being an outstanding researcher, Dr. Wang has published 16 papers in peer-reviewed journals including Nature Communications, Science Advances etc. He also recently presented 6 invited talks at international conferences.
