Dr. BORZENETS Ivan Valerievich, Assistant Professor

Dr. BORZENETS Ivan Valerievich was born in the former Soviet Union, in what is now Kharkov, Ukraine. He has obtained at BSc in Engineering Physics from The University of California, Berkeley in 2006. He has an MSc in Electrical and Computer engineering and a PhD in Physics from Duke University obtained in 2011 and 2012, respectively. During his PhD work in the group of Prof. Finkelstein, Dr. Borzenets has been awarded the G.P. Nano and Fritz London fellowships, and obtained a nanotechnology certificate. Prior to joining CityU, Dr. Borzenets was a researcher in the lab of Prof. Tarucha, Department of Applied Physics, The University of Tokyo. While there, Dr. Borzenets has been awarded the JSPS fellowship. 

Previous and ongoing research of Dr. Borzenets focuses on experimental study of nano-hybrid systems. In particular, a major focus is the study of graphene coupled to superconductors. In general, the interests of Dr. Borzenets is the manipulation of the behavior of nanomaterials by the controlling their environment with general applications geared towards quantum information.
