Prof Sunny Wang appointed to the Editorial Board of Physical Review Research

We are pleased to announce that Professor WANG Xin Sunny, Associate Professor of the Department, has been appointed to the Editorial Board of Physical Review Research (PRResearch), a prestigious journal published by the American Physical Society (APS). 

Professor Wang is an accomplished researcher specializing in quantum physics, condensed matter theory, and quantum information science. His work focuses on optimal control of qubits, error mitigation, and numerical methods, contributing significantly to advancements in these fields. He holds a PhD in physics from Columbia University and completed his postdoctoral training at the Condensed Matter Theory Center, University of Maryland, College Park. Among his many accolades, Prof. Wang has been recognized as a Global Spotlight Member by the APS and received the President’s Award from CityUHK.

In his role as an Editorial Board member, Professor Wang will assist in adjudicating challenging cases, advising on journal policy, and identifying potential referees. He will also play a key role in the formal appeal process, ensuring the journal maintains its high standards of fairness and scientific rigor. Additionally, he will help promote the journal within the global research community.

The Department of Physics congratulates Professor Wang on this well-deserved appointment, which reflects his standing as a leading figure in the field and his commitment to advancing scientific publishing.
