ABSTRACT
In this presentation, I will review the history of quantum entanglement and try to interpret the work of this year’s Nobel Prize winners at undergraduate level. I will present the perspectives for the potential applications in the second quantum revolution.
BIOGRAPHY
Professor Ou is a renowned physicist who is famous for the Hong-Ou-Mandel interferometer of two photons. He pioneered the field of multi-photon interference and has been working on quantum interference throughout his academic life. He recently re-discovered the so-called SU(1,1) interferometer based on quantum entanglement, which can enhance the sensitivity of measurement. Prof. Ou’s current research focuses on quantum metrology, quantum sensing, quantum state engineering, and more fundamental quantum measurement processes. Prof. Ou is a fellow of both American Physical Society and Optica (formerly Optical Society of America).
