CityUHK Ranked No. 1 in Hong Kong in the ShanghaiRanking 2023 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects: Materials Sciences & Engineering

We are pleased to share that CityUHK has once again emerged as the champion in Hong Kong and has achieved a global ranking of #21 (up from # 31 in 2022) in the ShanghaiRanking 2023 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) in Materials Sciences & Engineering. Furthermore, our remarkable progress extends to other materials science-related areas, with Nanoscience and Nanotechnology climbing from #21 to #17 globally, and Metallurgical Engineering soaring from #24 to #10 globally. Both subjects have achieved the remarkable distinction of being ranked # 1 in Hong Kong.

This marks our third consecutive year as the top-ranked University in Hong Kong and a significant leap from #51-75 in 2017 to #21 in 2023 in the world in GRAS. Among the 35 universities in Asia featured in the global Top 50 Materials Science & Engineering subject list, CityUHK proudly stands among the Top 15.
