The Department of Mechanical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) achieved outstanding results at the International Conference on Computational and Experimental Engineering and Sciences (ICCES 2026), a premier international academic event. The conference, held in Hong Kong from August 7 to 12, 2026, brought together around 2,225 participants from around the world, underscoring the international stature of the accolades received by the faculty.
Professor Kan Ma, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at CityUHK, and Professor Changhong Linghu, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at CityUHK, were each honored with the “ICCES Outstanding Young Researcher Award.” This prestigious accolade recognizes young researchers for significant contributions to scientific and technological innovation. Notably, only 14 outstanding scholars were selected for this honor from the conference’s total participation of 2,225.
Professor Yong Yang, Chair Professor of Mechanics and Materials in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at CityUHK; Professor Weizhong Han, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at CityUHK (in conjunction with Department of Materials Science and Engineering); Professor Lu Wang, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at CityUHK; and Professor Changhong Linghu, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at CityUHK, were each presented with the “ICCES Outstanding Symposium Organization Award.” This award recognizes exceptional contributions to conference organization. From the 134 symposia held during the conference, only 15 were distinguished with this award for their outstanding organizational success.
