Development of Photoacoustic Microscopy and Optical Coherence Tomography Dual-Modal Instrument

Current fundus imaging instruments cannot reliably acquire non-invasive, label-free 3D structural images and blood oxygen saturation. This project aims to develop a dual-modality instrument integrating photoacoustic microscopy (PAM) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) with deep learning algorithms, enabling high-SNR, high-resolution 3D structural and functional fundus imaging. PAM leverages optical absorption for accurate blood oxygen measurement, while OCT provides high-resolution fundus structural information. The synergistic integration of the two modalities enhances image quality, providing critical imaging data for hospitals and research institutions in fundus disease research, diagnosis, and treatment efficacy monitoring.
