To maximise the employment opportunities for the Class of 2020 graduates in such pandemic-stricken time, CityU has curated the CityU CAReer Launch Scheme (CARLS) from June to December 2020 to provide job matching fund and platform for job-seeking graduates and potential employers.

CARLS provides job search support to graduates while potential employers receive matching funds from CityU at one-third of the graduate’s monthly salary, capped at HK$6,000 per month, for up to three months. With the strong connections established, around 16,800 industry partners, employers, alumni, and trade associations have been reached out successfully and over 1,910 job opportunities from different industries were solicited. Moreover, over 2,000 one-on-one career consultation sessions have been conducted by the Careers and Employability Consultants, offering career advice and guidance on job searching, CV polishing, and career planning to the CityU students.

CARLS has been receiving unwavering support and encouraging feedback from both employers and students. More than 700 graduates have secured their employment and started their career journey through CARLS in this unprecedented time. CityU is planning to launch the CARLS 2021 in the summer for the Class of 2021 graduates.

CARLS successfully reached out around 16,800 industry partners, employers, alumni and trade associations, and received overwhelming support in 2020.
