Prof. YU Xinge has been awarded the CityUHK Presidential Research Excellence Award in recognition of his outstanding research achievements and impact since joining the University.

Prof. Yu is a leading scholar in flexible electronics, bio-integrated electronics, soft robots and human–machine interfaces. His work aims to bridge advanced engineering technologies with traditional healthcare needs by developing innovative wearable devices that can monitor health conditions and improve the efficiency and accuracy of patient treatment.

In recent years, Prof. Yu’s team has achieved a series of breakthroughs in electronic skin research. A key example is their neuromorphic robotic electronic skin, which can actively perceive pain and injury and generate autonomic reflexes—advancing the development of intelligent, responsive bio-integrated systems for healthcare and human–machine interaction.
