Many Mainland residents do not stay in Hong Kong during the summer term and need temporary storage for their luggage. Each summer, the Chinese Students and Scholars Association of City University of Hong Kong (CSSA) provides a summer storage plan to address the needs of these residents. This year, CSSA has selected an optimal storage company and extended the plan to all students.

Q: How can I register for the plan?

A: Registration is open to all students on a first-come-first-served basis. Students should complete a registration form and email it to summerstorage2010@hotmail.com (CSSA) before 23:59, April 18th. Students are also required to sign a Disclaimer with CSSA.

Q: How has the storage company been selected?
A: CSSA has selected a company called “Store Friendly” after market research and site visits. Store Friendly 储存易 (Storage location: Rooms A&B, Wai Yip Industrial Building, 171 Wai Yip Street, Kwun Tong) provides a round-the-clock dehumidification service and camera supervision for the storage rooms at a relatively low price.

Q: What are the charges for storage?
A: Students should prepare cardboard boxes themselves. They can buy cardboard boxes at Homey Kitchen. The storage fee for each box that falls within the standard size (22 x 16 x 14 inch) is HK$16 per month. The total expense for storing one box over the 3-and-a-half-month period is HK$70 (including HK$15 refundable deposit). Non-CSSA members (i.e. local and international students) will be charged 25% extra.

Q: What is the schedule for giving in and collecting my luggage?
A: Storing the luggage: May 15th, 10:00 to 16:00 (for CSSA members); 15:30-16:00 (for non-members), at Multi-functional Hall A.
Retrieving the luggage: August 26th, 10:00 to 16:00, at Multi-function Hall C.
Note: the schedule may be subject to change with prior notification.
