Project

Organizational Design and Public Management: Extending the Experimental Methods Agenda

The Laboratory for Public Management and Policy (LaMP) is a dynamic and interdisciplinary group of researchers that operates at the interface of public management and public policy. LaMP provides Hong Kong with a unique laboratory that uses a range of research methods to provide rigorous, robust and systematic empirical evidence on public policy, effective public management practices and performance.

Duties

  1. Liaise with the research team, and be an active member of LaMP;
  2. Design and implement a number of experimental research designs that replicate previous research;
  3. Draft research papers and reports;
  4. Assist in organizing conferences and workshops; and
  5. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of LaMP.




Requirements

A PhD/Master’s degree/good honours degree in Public Administration/Public Management/Public Policy/Sociology/Psychology/Economics/Management.  Good quantitative research skills; good command of written and spoken English; and working knowledge of experimental research designs are required.  Candidates are also expected to be self-motivated and able to work in a team.  Research experience in public policy and management is preferred.

Candidates with a PhD and no more than 3 years’ postdoctoral experience may be considered for appointment as Postdoctoral Fellow.

Candidates with a Master’s degree and more than 1 year’s experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Research Associate.


Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
