CityU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory Company Limited (CityU VDL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of City University of Hong Kong providing research and diagnostic service to local and regional veterinarians, along with world-class teaching and research facilities for students of CityU’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences.
Applications are invited for the above post:
Plan, manage and operate the daily activities of the microbiology section within CityU VDL; perform microbiology tests on primarily companion animals as well as small number of farm animals, horses, aquatic species, laboratory animal species, and exotic pets for CityU VDL; participate in the laboratory’s quality assurance program, continued professional development, customer education, validation studies and staff training; and perform any other duties as assigned.
Holiday and weekend rotations are required.
A postgraduate degree in Microbiology/Biomedical Science or related disciplines with at least 3 years' working experience in microbiology section of a diagnostic laboratory. Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) Board registration is highly preferred. Excellent written and spoken English; supervisory, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills for veterinary diagnostic and laboratory issues; and ability to work independently as well as with laboratory teams are required.
The appointment will be under CityU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory Company Limited. Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
