Assistant IT Manager/IT Officer in the Computing Services Centre [Ref. D/242/09]

 

Computer Services Centre at City University of Hong Kong manages the University's Information Technology infrastructure covering Data Centre Operations, Cloud and System Hosting, Research Computing, Communication and Networking, Audio Visual Technologies, and other related IT services to support the University’s operations.

Duties

  1. Assist the manager in managing and supervising the User Support Services Section which oversees the Service Desk and Tier-2 In-person Support Team;
  2. Supervise Service Desk team and handle enquiries and incidents (e.g. calls, emails, in-person visits, chatbots);
  3. Prepare and maintain operating procedures and service reports;
  4. Manage Service Desk Duty Roster;
  5. Act as Incident Manager and work with internal IT staff and external users to resolve problems; and
  6. Work on ad-hoc projects and perform any other duties as assigned.


5-day work, shift duty and working on weekend on a roster basis are required.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related disciplines, with 5 years’ relevant working experience;  
  2. Familiarity with IT Service Desk best practices and operations;
  3. Knowledge of and experience in the following disciplines:
    • Client / End-user Hardware and Software;
    • MS Windows Servers such as AD, Exchange, File and Print servers;
    • Microsoft 365 including SharePoint, Teams, and Emails;
    • AV facilities in meeting room or classroom; and
    • ServiceNow ITSM Platform.
  4. Sound knowledge of ITIL framework;
  5. Good problem solving skills; and
  6. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua would be an advantage).


Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as IT Officer.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
