Senior Communications Manager/Communications Manager in the Communications and Public Relations Office [Ref. D/201/09]

 

The University is looking for an experienced brand strategist to play an instrumental role in University’s brand building, and push the University's brand engagement to a higher level.  The appointee will provide advice and operational support in branding and communications matters by leading a team responsible for creating original and culturally vibrant engagement concepts; integrate new media with traditional ones in support of the University's strategic developments; plan and execute branding and promotional campaigns; spearhead dynamic online and social media initiatives; assume leadership responsibility for university-level publications and editorial services; and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

A good honours degree in Communications/Marketing/Journalism or related disciplines, with at least 12 years’ post-qualification experience in branding and publications. Candidates should have a proven track record in developing branding strategies; devising effective campaigns for identified target audiences; and managing digital directives, online and traditional publications in support of branding strategies.  The appointee is also expected to be an innovative thinker and self-motivated, with ability to work independently, quickly and under pressure as well as perform diversified duties; a first-rate leader and team player with a strategic mindset; possess outstanding interpersonal skills, with excellent communications skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).  Substantial editorial experience would be highly desirable.  

Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Communications Manager.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
