Instructional Designer (at the rank of Executive Officer II) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer [Ref. D/167/09]

 

Duties

Reporting to the Senior Manager (e-Learning), the appointee will support the UGC funded projects on the development and adoption of flipped classroom and gamification of learning at CityU.  Main duties include to:

  1. Co-design flipped and online courses with educators by providing sound advice on pedagogy with the use of e-learning technologies;
  2. Create engaging learning activities and outcome-based assessment tasks inside and outside the classroom;
  3. Coordinate the production of courseware in the form of game, audio/video, animation, photograph and infographic;
  4. Meet with educators and other team members on a regular basis to share information and gauge the progress; and
  5. Conduct research and analysis to evaluate project success.




Requirements

  1. A Master’s degree/good honours degree in Education or related disciplines;
  2. 2 years’ relevant working experience in e-learning, preferably at tertiary education (including the use of learning management systems);
  3. Proven blended learning course design experience;
  4. Knowledge of media production and/or digital gaming; and
  5. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.

 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.


Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
