Executive Officer (Digital Marketing) in the Office of the Vice-President (Research and Technology) (Appointment for 6 months) [Ref. B/R/912/09]

 

Duties

Assist the Communications and Public Relations Manager for all the online and digital marketing initiatives.  The appointee will be responsible for:

  1. Promoting University’s research achievement to different target audience (both local and international) and enhancing the image as a global destination for professional education, in particular for PhD studies;
  2. Devising and carrying out digital strategies and plans such as “Research Stories” update on CityU main website, online marketing (Google ad, search engine optimization, search engine marketing);
  3. Liaising with agencies for WeChat advertisement and press release online promotion as well as promoting CityU research via other online/social media (e.g. LinkedIn);
  4. Exploring new digital channels and suitable KOLs for advertising, promotion and partnership opportunities;
  5. Tracking and evaluating the effectiveness of all online channels and marketing campaigns; and finding ways of improvement;
  6. Researching market trends and tools in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Asia Pacific and other regions as well as identifying appropriate tools and channels;
  7. Assisting in the development and preparation of research related online communications materials (e.g. e-newsletters);
  8. Managing agencies and vendors; and
  9. Performing any other duties and projects as assigned.


Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Marketing/Business or related disciplines, with minimum 7 years’ working experience in marketing, communications, advertising, or related fields, of which at least 3 years of digital marketing experience;
  2. Good understanding and comprehensive knowledge of digital communications environment, (e.g. paid search, SEO, display advertising) in Hong Kong and Mainland China; knowledge in Asia Pacific and other regions would be an advantage;
  3. Proven success in launching marketing campaigns in driving online awareness;
  4. Solid experience in managing social media campaigns;
  5. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  6. Mature, independent, detail-oriented, self-motivated with problem solving skills, an analytical mind and eager to learn;
  7. Good interpersonal and communication skills; and
  8. Flexible and willing to work under pressure.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
