Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator in the City University of Hong Kong Press [Ref. A/245/09]

 

Duties

Assist and coordinate with the Marketing & Publicity Officer in the design and execution of marketing and media relations plans to support the promotion of CityU Press and its publications, and to devise and implement strategies for enhancing the physical and digital distribution services of the Press.

The appointee is responsible for:

  1. Monitoring various social media of the Press on a day-to-day basis (including website, Facebook, Instagram, Weibo, Wechat and Linkedin);
  2. Executing social media strategies through competitive research, platform determination and audience identification;
  3. Keeping abreast with social media trends, news and tools in order to generate news-worthy online stories, and engage in the emerging social media platforms;
  4. Assisting in the development of marketing and communication materials, launching of marketing campaigns and events, and liaising with the media and other stakeholders;
  5. Maximizing marketing opportunities to support the initiatives of the Press;
  6. Supporting the production of e-books; and
  7. Performing any other duties as assigned.

 


Requirements

5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics with at least 2 years’ relevant experience.  Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (both Putonghua and Cantonese); proficiency in computer skills (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Chinese word-processing); extensive knowledge of social media platforms, web proficiency and brand marketing experience; being creative and motivated, detailed-oriented; and good communication skills are required.  Adequate knowledge of Adobe creative solutions, HTML and web-design would be an advantage.  Good knowledge of publishing industry is preferred.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.


Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.  The appointment will be at the rank of Clerical Officer.
