Accounting Officer I in the Finance Office [Ref. A/228/09]


Duties

  1. Manage and supervise a team on the daily operations and accounting matters;
  2. Assist in monitoring performance of investment portfolios and preparation of management reports;
  3. Coach the team for best practices, and streamline the workflow for payment process efficiency and effectiveness;
  4. Provide system support to Oracle Financials; and
  5. Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

A good honours degree in Accounting/Finance/Banking or related disciplines, with at least 7 years’ supervisory experience in managing the financial/management accounting team in large organizations.  Membership of professional accounting bodies is preferred but not mandatory.  Sound knowledge of treasury system and financial controls; excellent communication skills; self-initiative with ability to work independently; and good command of written English with strong analytical skills are required.  Experience in implementing large-scale payment solutions or improvement projects, proficiency in PC skills, and experience in Oracle Financials would be an added advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
