It has also developed special programmes for judges from Mainland China, including LLM and JSD programmes. These appointments are part of a strategy to enhance the School’s research performance. It has recruited excellent talents at all levels in recent years and these appointments represent a determined effort to increase the size of faculty by recruiting high calibre staff.
Law and Energy & Environment are often cited as areas where there should be scope for interdisciplinary collaboration. Applications and nominations are invited for the the above posts:
Teach and supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at both Schools; ensure the courses to be properly geared to the needs of students; exploit opportunities for joint teaching at a more integrated and higher level; conduct high level, creative and professional interdisciplinary research in Law and Energy & Environment. The appointee is also expected to take the lead in developing innovative teaching interactions and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between the Schools especially in the following areas: regulation of air or water pollution, building regulations, climate change laws, regulation and deregulation of the energy market.
A PhD in relevant disciplines with ability to undertake research and teaching in Law and Energy & Environment. Candidates for the post of Professor should have an outstanding research record with a demonstrated ability to lead a sizeable research group of mid and junior level professors, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students. They are expected to strengthen the current research areas in the School of Law or the School of Energy and Environment.
Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance. Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable). Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
