The competition tested participants’ marine knowledge, agility, and mental fortitude through three demanding segments: mandatory questions, rapid‑fire questions, and challenge questions. The Hong Kong regional final attracted over 300 spectators and marked the first time the contest was held locally, drawing more than 400 tertiary students from 20 institutions. Prof. Kenneth Leung, BBS, JP, from CityUHK was also among the officiating guests and served as Chairman of the Competition Academic Committee, further highlighting CityUHK’s leadership role in marine education and research.
