SEE Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Yang Fu Receives Best Poster Award at Photothermal Regulation Materials and Technologies Symposium

Dr. Yang Fu, Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE), City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), supervised by Prof. Edwin Tso, Associate Dean (Internationalisation and Outreach), has been awarded the Best Poster Award at the Photothermal Regulation Materials and Technologies Symposium, held on 17–18 January 2026 in Nanjing, China.
The symposium highlighted the pivotal role of photothermal technologies in advancing low‑carbon innovation and global carbon neutrality goals. Serving as a high‑impact platform for academic–industry collaboration, the event fostered the transition of photothermal materials and technologies from laboratory research to real‑world applications. Out of numerous submissions, only five posters were selected for the award through a rigorous two‑round evaluation process conducted by expert reviewers.

Dr. Fu’s research focuses on radiative thermal design from thermo‑optics perspectives for energy and electronic applications. His award‑winning work on photoluminescent colored radiative cooling demonstrates how radiative cooling can be balanced with aesthetic demands and urban microclimate considerations, paving the way for practical deployment of passive cooling technologies.
This recognition not only celebrates Dr. Fu’s impactful contributions but also underscores SEE’s commitment to research excellence and innovation under the guidance of Prof. Tso. His achievement exemplifies the creativity and dedication of SEE’s postdoctoral researchers and reinforces the School’s mission to advance sustainable energy and environmental solutions through cutting‑edge research.
Congratulations to Dr. FU and Prof. Tso on this well-deserved honour!
