SEE Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Jie Tan Receives Chen Xuejun Excellent Young Scholar Paper Award

Dr. Jie Tan, Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE), City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), under the supervision of Prof. Edwin Tso, Associate Dean (Internationalisation and Outreach) of SEE, has been honoured with the Chen Xuejun Excellent Young Scholar Paper Award (青年學者陳學俊優秀論文獎) at the 2025 Annual Academic Conference of the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics, held from 30 October to 2 November in Beijing, China.

Established in 2005 in memory of Prof. Chen Xuejun, a pioneer in engineering thermophysics in China, this prestigious award recognises young scholars who have made significant contributions to multiphase flow thermophysics through innovative research.

Dr. Tan's research focuses on electrowetting and interfacial sciences, exploring how electric fields can manipulate fluid behavior at micro- and nano-scales. His award-winning work on orbital electrowetting provides groundbreaking insights into controllable liquid transport and dynamic droplet manipulation, representing a major advancement in the field.
