Prof. Edwin Tso Represents SEE During the Launch of National Ecology Day 2025

On 15 August 2025, Prof. Edwin Tso, Associate Dean (Internationalisation and Outreach) of the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong, attended the Launching Ceremony for National Ecology Day (NED) 2025, an event that celebrates the nation’s commitment to ecological preservation and sustainable development.

National Ecology Day serves as a critical platform to inspire collective action and foster a shared commitment to ecological conservation. Through such initiatives, the nation continues to work toward building a more sustainable and resilient future.

Since 2023, the country has designated 15 August every year as National Ecology Day to promote public awareness of ecological civilisation and environmental protection. The initiative also underscores the important concept that "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", reflecting the nation’s commitment to aligning environmental values with economic development.

In support of this national initiative, SEE will host a special event, “National Ecology Day cum SEE Tech Talk,” on 23 August 2025. This event will further celebrate National Ecology Day by showcasing the School’s cutting-edge research and innovation in energy and environmental sciences, while fostering dialogue on sustainable development and ecological conservation.

Prof. Tso’s participation in the launching ceremony demonstrated SEE’s active role in supporting initiatives that address pressing environmental challenges. His presence highlighted the School’s dedication to advancing research, education, and innovation in energy and environmental sciences, and to fostering dialogue and collaboration across sectors.
