SKMEH Presented with Official Plaque as State Key Laboratory in Hong Kong

In August 2025, the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Health (SKMEH), based at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) was officially presented with its plaque by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China at a ceremony organized by The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

Formerly known as the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution, SKMEH was established in 2010 and is currently led by Prof. Kenneth Leung, BBS, JP, Affiliate Faculty Member of the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) and Chair Professor of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. The laboratory focuses on emerging marine pollutants, ecological health restoration, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable blue economy development. This recognition reinforces SKMEH’s role in contributing to national scientific advancement and environmental innovation.
