SEE PhD Student Ms. Qi Zhu Wins Best Poster Award at 2025 ICOBTE & ICHMET Conference under Prof. Jason Lam’s Supervision

Ms. Qi ZHU, a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Jason Chun-Ho LAM, Associate Professor at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE), City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), received the Best Poster Presentation Award at the ICOBTE & ICHMET 2025 Conference, jointly organized by the 17th International Conference on the Biogeochemistry of Trace Elements (ICOBTE) and the 22nd International Conference on Heavy Metals (ICHMET),  held in Korea from 22–26 September 2025. Her award-winning presentation, titled “Highly Selective Recovery of Aromatic Chemicals from Biomass Wastes”, was based on her PhD research and showcased innovative work in the field of sustainable resource recovery and biomass waste valorization.

Under the theme “Catalyzing Change for Sustainability and ESG: Bridging Academia and Industry,” the 2025 Joint ICOBTE & ICHMET Conference focuses on innovative strategies to mitigate pollution, emphasizing the importance of trace element and heavy metal management in achieving a cleaner, healthier future. By bringing together scientists, researchers, early career scientists, end-users, industry leaders, policymakers, and other professionals from around the world, ICOBTE & ICHMET Conference aims to catalyze meaningful change and foster collaborations that bridge the gap between academia and industry.

This prestigious recognition not only celebrates Ms. Zhu’s outstanding research achievements but also reflects the impactful contributions and global impact of Prof. Lam’s research group in advancing sustainable technologies and environmental science.
