Professor Chunhua Liu Honoured with Second Prize at the 11th China Power Supply Society Science and Technology Awards

Prof. Chunhua Liu, Chair Professor at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), has been awarded the Second Prize in Scientific and Technological Progress (Basic Research Category) at the 11th China Power Supply Society (CPSS) Science and Technology Awards.

The award-winning research project, titled “Research on Energy Transmission Mechanisms and Control Strategies for High-Degree Freedom Integrated Permanent Magnet Wireless Motors”, was led by Prof. Liu in collaboration with Dr. Yuxin Liu, Dr. Senyi Liu, Dr. Rundong Huang, and Dr. Zhiping Dong. On 9 November 2025, Prof. Liu and Dr. Yuxin Liu, a core member of the project team, attended the 2025 CPEEC & CPSSC Congress and Exposition at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, where they received the award certificate during the official ceremony.

The China Power Supply Society (CPSS), established in 1983 and operating under the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), is the only national-level organization in China dedicated to the power supply field. Prof. Liu’s project ingeniously eliminates redundant power and signal cables on the motor, overcoming the limitations of wired connections to enhance system freedom and reliability while providing exceptional operational flexibility.
